Many dental offices have framed licenses of the dentist and hygienist in wonderfully matted frames. These framed documents are displayed in a centralized area or in each treatment room. Did you know that according to the Oregon Board of Dentistry there is also a requirement for the auxiliary staff? Division 42 in the Dental Practice Act states that all EFDA's who are currently practicing expanded functions during their employment, (this includes a copy of the Radiological Proficiency Certificate) must have the certificate displayed in a conspicuous place where the public can view...not just in an employee folder in the file cabinet. It is possible that many offices are unaware of this requirement. Is your office in compliance?
